Panoramic views of Sydney Harbor stretched along the width of the apartment through floor to ceiling windows as I walked into my suite at The Pullman Quay Grand. Situated a stones throw away from the city and The Sydney Opera House, this was an absolute dream location.
For those of you that have been following my journey while I’ve been in Sydney know how much I adore it. I’ve been fortunate enough to live in four different countries throughout my life, however I can confess with utmost certainty that Sydney is by far my favorite. I’m not entirely sure whether its because I moved here on my own at the age of 20 and was forced to stand on my two feet, or because I’m away from the bleakness of London.
Over the course of the year, I’ve stayed at a number of hotels within Sydney and have to admit that this was by far one of my favorite. I invited my best friend Lucy to stay with me and we vowed not to discuss anything work or uni related. It was the perfect girly getaway! At sunset, we headed down to Hacienda Sydney on the second floor. The open plan lounge boasts one of the most stunning views of the harbor I’ve ever witnessed. The menu was rich with some of my favorite finger foods (not ordering the jerk chicken sliders or shoestring fries would be close to criminal!) After sipping on some of their signature cocktails (they made mine non-alcoholic!) we headed down to the Opera House for a pleasant walk around the harbor, which was a literal five minutes away.
Breakfast at Q Dining the next morning was an absolute treat. Anyone who loves brunch as much as I do would struggle to decide what to order. With a variety of breakfast dishes to decide from including Kangaroo Ragout and Brioche French Toast, I opted for my favorite Eggs Benedict with salmon and roasted tomatoes. Although I have less than four weeks left in Sydney, I’m certain to be back for one last breakfast!
Those that know me know I’m obsessed with traveling. The moment I get a few days off, I’m on a plane to a new destination. I’ve been residing in Sydney for just over ten months and have been fortunate enough to travel all over Australia including The Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef (twice!) as well as Indonesia and New Zealand. However, juggling university assignments and work, I’ve been up to my eyeballs with deadlines and sometimes find myself struggling to make time for myself. This weekend, I decided to take some time out of my hectic schedule and spend a weekend at The Sydney Harbour Marriott with a friend. It was the best decision I had made all month (actually, second best after buying my Gucci Sylvie).
We were booked into the Opera View Suite, which boasted phenomenal views of the city and Circular Quay. The Opera House and Harbour Bridge were both walking distance. I had breakfast looking out onto Sydney Harbour, a sight I’ll miss when I move back to London. Although my apartment is a short walk away from the hotel itself, I allowed myself to relax which genuinely made me feel as if I was in a different country!
I would recommend the Sydney Harbour Marriott for anyone that wants amazing views of the city Opera House. The one thing I loved about it was the location. As the weather was so lovely, we walked everywhere. Westfields is a short walk away as well as the wharf, which allows you to get a ferry directly to Luna Park, Manly or Taronga Zoo. My next Sydney vlog will be out this week, so keep an eye out!
